MIST HOUSE

This conceptual residential conversion breathes new life into a striking glass-domed structure—once an entertaining space, now reimagined as a deeply personal lakeside retreat.

The design is sensitive and highly considered, honouring the building’s distinctive architecture while seamlessly connecting the owners to the surrounding natural landscape. Inspired by the ever-changing movement of water, the scheme introduces sweeping curves and ripple motifs that echo both the energy of the lake and the fluidity of life within.

Moments of drama—glimpses of water, shafts of natural light—are layered with subtlety and surprise, creating a sensory experience that unfolds as you progress through the space.

A refined palette of natural materials and bespoke elements grounds the home in its setting and reflects the clients’ passions: a love of wild swimming, and a professional connection to the geological world. Every detail is intentional, every texture and tone curated to create harmony between the structure, the environment, and the people who live within it.

The accompanying moodboard (above) expresses the lightness of the glass dome, the serenity of water, and the integrity of natural materials and craftmanship in design.

This soft, light-filled master ensuite is designed as a private sanctuary. Gentle pink undertones create a flattering, calming atmosphere, while the expansive walk-in shower offers a spa-like sense of indulgence.

A sculptural marble feature wall introduces movement and artistry—its fluid pattern echoing the lake just beyond. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open directly onto a secluded terrace garden, offering uninterrupted views of the water and a seamless connection between indoors and out.

Every element is curated for beauty, comfort, and stillness.
